Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner

First published April 12, 2005

It is is a non-fiction book that crunches data to answer relevant questions (that appear funny on the onset) related to the human psyche and behavior. If you appreciate counter-intuitive thinking and value approaches to discovering what’s actually true rather than what “common sense” tells us is true, then you will greatly appreciate Steven Levitt’s methods. The book encourages us to keep our mind alert and break out of the mold in the way we see things. A common topic we can find in the book is the question of what motivates people.

Favorite Quote: Morality, it could be argued, represents the way that people would like the world to work, whereas economics represents how it actually does work.
